Little Monkey

We took Landry to an amazing place this morning.....MONKEY JOE'S. There a lots of different places like this in different cities, but we had never been to one. I say whoever came up with the idea is a genius!!! It's basically a huge bounce house, a giant room full of inflatables. Now Landry loves to jump on the bed, so to her, she was jumping on a gigantic bed, with triple the bounce and a playground on top. She had a ball! It was so funny watching her try to climb on something and get bounced off. She'd just pick herself up and go again.

There were also some giant slides, that I was not brave enough to let Landry go down herself. So I joined in on the fun and went down with her. I'm not sure how much Landry liked that part, but I had a great time.

Sorry, we forgot to bring the video camera. But next time we will record some footage of Landry being a little monkey.

Eating Progress Report

A while back, I posted a blog about Landry trying to use her fork and spoon to eat. I mentioned that she was attempting, but not doing too hot yet. She preferred the hand shoveling method instead. Well, since then she has almost mastered the use of her utensils. It happened overnight, like a lot of things do with her. The video shows her eating like a such a big girl. She was quite hungry at the moment, so you should also note the size of her bites. WOW!

Every once in a while, she will still cheat and use her hands, but I'd say she's doing pretty great!

Up until now, Landry was convinced that all animals said "MOO!" Well, she has finally started warming up to the idea that animals have there own individual sounds. Here are a few she has been working on.

Daddy - Daughter Dates

Daddy and Landry started a weekly ritual last week. It is something Cory has really been looking forward to for a while, and we decided now was a great time to start. For their first date, they had breakfast at chik-fil-a. There is a play area there for toddlers, so thats a big plus for Landry. They had a wonderful time. Here are some pics before they left.

Underoos

I read a recent article that said 18-month-olds often will "strip" because they have learned how to undress themselves.  The article also stated that the ability to put clothes on would come much later.  Well Landry is out to prove them wrong.  Just this week, she learned to put on underwear.  The pictures below give evidence.

Aunt Shonda and Uncle Tim come to visit!

Aunt Shonda and Uncle Tim (who are actually cousins) have lived in Seattle for the last few years, so we don't get to see them much.  However, we keep in very close touch by phone and internet.  And they have managed to spoil Landry, even being hundreds of miles away, by sending her goodies through the mail.  They got a chance to spoil her in person this week when they came for a visit.  We had lots of fun just playing and shopping.  Landry really loved hanging out with them.

What a Vacation!!

Our vacation was eventful, to say the least.  We went from Columbus, to Atlanta, to Amarillo, to Dallas, to Natchitoches, to Singer, to Lake Charles, back to Singer, and finally back home.  And on our vacation, Landry was a flower girl, went to the zoo, went to a huge canyon, went to an aquarium, played in the water, played with LOTS of cousins, became an avid fan of watermelon, rode a few horses,  ran around barefoot outside, climbed a tree (or at least sat in one), ate homemade ice cream, hung out with Nana, Poppy, Aunt Lindsey, GiGi, PawPaw, Uncle, Josh and Aunt Trista, and too many other family members to name.  I am sure I have forgotten lots of things, but I think you have the idea.  What a vacation!!!
