A TOOTH!  A TOOTH!

I finally got a picture of it showing.  But this poor tooth is looking a little lonely.  There has been a bump next to it for a month now.  The next tooth wants to break through so badly, but it's just not happening.

(Warning: I may be using Christmas Songs for all my titles this month.  HaHa!  I am the queen of cheese)

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

This past weekend was a busy one!  We knew it would be, so we called my mom to the rescue.  And, as always, she dropped everything to come help us out.  THANKS MOM!  I'm not quite sure what we would do without you!


You see, every year, our church does a big event as a gift to our community.  The event includes a Live Nativity, Santa's Workshop, and A Christmas Musical.  I was in charge of taking pictures with Santa, as well as singing in the musical.  Cory, being a pastor, was needed to greet people and do other pastorly duties.

This would go on Saturday and Sunday.  However, we kicked off our weekend by making Christmas goodies and decorating a gingerbread house.  Landry was so careful and particular about how it was decorated.  She even took over the piping bag and did pretty well with it.

The first day of the our big event, we got a special surprise.  My dad showed up!  Dad, it means so much to me that you would drive all that way just for one special day.  I know the kids loved having you there to share that time with.

The Simple Things

Remember when the littlest things would amuse us.  You know, simple things like: the ice cream man, or a Christmas song, or the park.  Then we grow up and suddenly become to "cool" or "responsible" or just plain "boring" to allow little things to bring us joy.  Well, thankfully, I have two wonderful children who remind me daily what it is like to find joy in the simple things.

Cory tossed Landry's bunny toward the couch b/c it was on my chair. She comes up to him and asks, "Excuse me, did you throw my bunny?" He responds, "Yes, I did." Her reply: "You hurt herself!"

Where's his Mommy?

Landry loves to learn.  She is like a sponge and remembers SO much!  We started working on lowercase letters a few months back by doing a puzzle she has.  In two days, she could already recognize all of them and put them with their "mommies."  During table time, a couple of days ago, she was playing with her alphabet magnets and I kept hearing her say, "Where's his mommy?  There she is!  Where's her mommy?  There she is?"  I walked in to find this:

Eli - 9 months old

Oh my goodness!  One-year-old is just around the corner. I don't know if I can take it.  I really want to keep this one small!!!  Maybe it's a second child thing.  You are so anxious to see your first child grow up to see all the things they will do and learn.  But, now that I have an idea about those things from Landry, I'm completely ok with Eli staying 9 months old.  Am I asking too much?  Perhaps, yes.  I know that God needs this baby to grow up and bring others the same joy he has brought us.  He is one amazing little guy!


We went to the Doctor yesterday and here are his stats: Weight - 24 lb. 2.5 oz (92 %), Height - 29 1/4" (75%), Head circumference 18 3/4" (95%).....He must have a big brain.


And here are his milestones since 6 months:
-Says mama, dada, baba, more and ball (i think)
- Waves back at you and sometimes says bye bye with it
-Claps, drums on everything
-Walks behind a push toy with ease
-Crawls
-Pulls up
-Sits up from crawling
-Has one tooth (one about to break through)
-Dances to music
-Cruises along furniture
-Can stand alone for a few seconds, but recently has been too busy crawling to do that
-Uses Pincer Grasp or picks things up with his fist and squeezes until it pops up at the top.
-Has had 2 haircuts and is in need of another


Ok, so you get the point,  He's been busy, and we have enjoyed every minute of him!
