Poop

Yes, you read the title right.  This blog is about our latest adventures involving poop.  I just couldn't think of a more fitting name, and let me warn you, it is gross!  I now fully understand why Kate Gosselin took pictures of her kids next to their first poop on the potty.  It is one of the most significant moments in a child's life!  Now, I mentioned in this blog that Landry was potty-trained.  I should have said she was "tee tee trained" instead.  We were still working on "number 2".  This week has been a fun one, catching Landry in her room with a bump in the back of her panties.  I would walk in and she would say, "Oh No!  Dora's dirty.  Oh my gosh!  Oh my word!"  You think she heard me say that a few times when cleaning up after her accidents?  LOL  At least she was entertaining enough to take my mind off of the awfulness that awaited me.  And after she had a nice clean pair of Dora panties on, we rehearsed: M:"Do you poo poo in your painties?" L:"No" M: "Where do you poo poo?"  L: "On the potty" M:"That's right!".  Day after day...no luck.

Fast forward to today.  Landry jumps out of her seat to tell me she has to tee tee.  She does just that and hops off of the potty.  I had a sneaky suspicion she might of had to take care of a little more business, but she wouldn't fess up.  So as I ran to tend to Eli for a moment, Landry ran up to her room pantyless.  As I begin to head up the stairs, Landry runs out of her room, T.P. in hand, telling me she needs to be wiped.  Could it be?  Did she decide to go on the potty all by herself?  Well, she decided to go alright, but definitely not in a place of my choosing.  M: "Landry, where did you poo poo?"  L:"Right there", pointing inside her TOY BOX.  You can just imagine the scene after that.  I am laughing now, but I promise it was not funny at the time!

However, we had a victory tonight.  As we are sitting at dinner, Landry suddenly jumped up to go tee tee.  Again, I suspected more because she had just gone 5 minutes before hand.  She tinkled a little and hopped up to run away, but I insisted she stay longer.  She got through three books when she finally decided she was comfortable enough to "do her business."   Hallelujah!  We had a party in the bathroom.  Landry, Cory and I were all jumping up and down.  She got to spin her m&m dispenser two times, and I took her to the store to pick out a special treat.

Now I am fully aware that Landry will look back and be horrified that I shared this story with everyone, but I figure it is payback for all those glorious  moments of mommyhood.  I'd love YOU to comment with some of your less than thrilling moments.  I need a good laugh.

For now, here are some cute pictures of Landry from today doing her usual thing.
