Throw Me Somethin' Mister!!

Although our family does not really celebrate Mardi Gras, we do embrace the opportunity to get out into our community and enjoy some local parades.  After all, we live in the Mardi Gras capitol, where kids get out of school for the entire week!  Our church even takes the opportunity to minister to the community by offering a free block party after one of the local parades.  Unfortunately, this year, that parade was canceled due to uncooperative weather.  Today, however, the rain held off just long enough for us to enjoy a small, family-oriented parade.  We had such a wonderful time with friends and family! It was a morning we won't soon forget

 When we got home and were sorting through our loot, Lan decided to make a Mardi Gras sculpture.  I just love the flower in the chicken's mouth! LOL
