Does she have a green thumb or just a brown nose?

I planned to plant flowers in our window boxes at home and thought Landry would have fun helping me. So we got out her gardening tools and I began to instruct her on what to do. I scooped the dirt into the planter, and told her to do the same. She scooped it out of the planter. I placed the flowers into the soil. She tried to tear the blooms off of the flowers. We watered the flowers together and then Landry's hands went into the mud.

Doing things with toddlers is much more challenging, but also much more fun.

Big Ouchie!!

I got to experience real fear yesterday about my child. I was in the kitchen when she decided to climb into her car seat that was sitting on the living room floor. It tipped over and Landry forehead when crashing into the floor. I didn't think it would be too bad because she was not that high up, but her head swelled immediately to about golfball size. When I saw it, I panicked and called the doctor immediately. All I could do was picture the worst possible scenarios.

She checked out fine at the doctor and it just left with a nice purple circle on her head. In these pictures the swelling had gone down considerably. This is about 4 hours after it happened. The smile on her face says it all...."I'm ok mommy!"

Landry through the eyes of Laura

I just wanted to share this beautiful drawing with everyone. A great friend of ours, and one of our former students, Laura, drew this picture of Landry. She copied a photo I took of her. You may recognize the picture because it is on the blog.

Adventures in Eating

Landry is working on eating her food with a fork rather than her hands. Or should I say, I am making her work on this. She does very well getting the food from the fork to her mouth. However, getting food on the fork is not so easy. The funny thing is when i turn my back for a second, she will drop the fork and grab a huge handful of food and shove it her her mouth. They learn early to be sneaky. Here are a few cute pics of Landry using her big girl utensils.

"You said it was a brush!"

I showed Landry this doll brush and told her it was a brush. She preceded to brush her baby doll's teeth with it. Kids do the darndest things.

I SPY.....

Can you guess what this picture is of?

Landry decided to transport her alphabet magnets from the refrigerator to every section of the house. And what better mode of transportation than her stroller. That's pretty smart if you ask me. She could carry more at a time that way. This, again, was an activity that kept her busy for at least an hour.

Children and their Daddies

Born within every child is the desire to climb on top of Daddy when he is lying on the floor. It's a reflex of some sort.."Daddy lays down, I climb on". I can remember many times climbing on my dad's back as a little girl. I just seemed to fit perfectly there. It is such a joy watching Landry do the same thing. When Cory lies down on the floor, Landry will spot him from across the room and come running. In this video you will see that Landry has found the perfect horse.
