Landry's Special Day

Since are trying to make sure our children understand that Christmas is about Christ and the celebration of His birth, we try to make sure they feel totally and completely celebrated on their birthdays.  We want it to be THEIR day, and to know that we are excited to have them in our lives.  Don't get me wrong.  I want my kids to know that everyday, but I want them to feel extra special on their special day.

With all that said, I can say, with complete confidence, that I know Landry felt celebrated yesterday.  The day is full of fun, just for her.

We started out the day with muffins.  I put a candle in her muffin and sang happy birthday to her.  She was tickled pink.  When I gave her a second muffin, she said, "We have to sing happy birthday to this muffin too."  So we lit another candle and sang happy birthday a second time.

Daddy had a meeting that morning, but when he came to pick up Landry for school, he brought her a big surprise. I wish I would have gotten her reaction on video, because she was beyond excited.  I think you can get a pretty good idea from these pictures
After lunch, I brought cupcakes to Landry's class.  Look at her face while they are singing happy birthday to her.  Is she proud or what?
Here are some of Landry's friends enjoying their cupcakes
And she didn't want to leave Eli out.  She thought he needed his first taste of icing.
The fun didn't stop there.  When Cory got home from work, we took Landry to Chick-fil-a for supper and then to Coldstone for dessert.
I think we had as much fun as she did!
