Homemade Valentines

So, I started making homemade Valentines for Landry a couple of years ago.  Warning: Once you start making homemade Valentines, you will have to continue making homemade Valentines for the rest of your children's school careers.  People start to expect it and when you don't follow through, then you must have "lost your touch" or something like that.  Case in point, when I brought Landry's bag of Valentines in today, the teacher said, "Let me see what you made."  I can only imagine the disappointment that would have appeared on her face if she would have pulled out a store-bought Valentine.  I'm not complaining, just warning you ladies before you dive into the homemade valentine trap.  Fortunately, I actually like the torture of having to think of new ideas, so I'm ok with being in "the trap" :)

While I'm on a kick, let me talk about my love/hate relationship with Pinterest.  I have ranted and raved about it, because it is truly a wonderful resource.  But, I am noticing now that we ALL use the same ideas. I find myself frustrated when I think I have come up with a unique idea on my own, and then I see that someone else in the world has come up with the same idea, blogged about it, and everyone else on God's green earth has "pinned" it.  As a matter of fact, I could almost predict what type of Valentines my kids would be receiving this year.  And because I did not want to have the same Valentines as everyone else, I was determined to come up with ideas I did not find on pinterest.  Here is what I came up with:

Eli's are actually an idea I did for Landry and reused.

I also took a few pictures of my kids in the Valentine's day outfits.  GiGi made the outfits, and Nana and Poppy had sent them some cute little marshmallow pops which added the perfect touch for the pictures.
